About

Real derivations, real limits, no walk-backs.

What this project is, why it's built the way it is, and who's behind it.

The project

What Survivor Field Theory is

Survivor Field Theory proposes that the laws of physics aren't fundamental — they're what's left standing after a competition among possible pre-geometric configurations. It's an active, unfinished framework: some of it is derived from first principles, some is still an open assumption, and one whole branch of it has already been tried and eliminated on the record.

It didn't start out this way. The project's first version, the Grand Unified Emergence Theory, claimed a single mechanism behind every fundamental force. That claim hit a genuine mathematical dead end trying to derive the strong nuclear force, was formally retired, and the project renamed itself in response. What survived that retirement — gravity, an approximate speed of light, and at least four spacetime dimensions emerging from a pre-geometric substrate — is what SFT claims today. The Idea walkthrough covers the reasoning from the beginning.

The approach

Why this site shows its dead ends

A theory that only shows its successes isn't showing its actual epistemic position. Every claim on this site carries a status tag — Derived, Conditional, Postulated, or Open — and none of them are interchangeable. Eliminated branches stay on the record instead of being quietly deleted. Corrections are logged in place, not rewritten over.

A project that shows real derivations, real limits, and a documented failure it didn't walk back from. — The Idea, Step 5

That standard applies at every layer of this site, from the plain-language walkthrough down to the addenda archive itself.

Public narrative and physicist-facing detail

Everything is built from the same master document — nothing on the public side is a different claim from what physicists see, just a different resolution of it.

Who's behind it

Survivor Field Theory is an independent research project developed by Mathew Iacono, working outside any institutional affiliation. The project is the reason for this site's emphasis on showing status tags honestly and keeping eliminated branches on the record rather than quietly dropping them — that discipline matters more, not less, without a lab or a department backing it.
